This is a rant, combined with a clarification. It is aimed at specific people, though I don't name names, and they know exactly who they are.

"Why are you not working? Fix this! Why are we doing Vietnam? Why haven't you fixed everything?"
Fuck you you self-entitled prick.
The entire point of the Vietnam night was to have fun. Remember that thing? That we used to have? For an entire month Gambler 1 didn't have an operation. And in OP 08, with the exception of two servers, NO ONE had an operation. That's not fun, and that pisses people off more than your incredulity of cancelling an entire op week and substituting if for a fun night.
Some people are just absolutely flabbergasted that we didn't use the entire cancelled op cycle to just test shit. That we should use ALL of that time to work, work, work. You know what? This shit is supposed to be fun. So sue me if we took one of those weeks off to have some pure fun for people, as opposed to 100% work. Sue me if we took the time to have an extra week to release a mod pack and ammo pack, see if some stuff was resolved, and then release another one this week with any fixed issues there may be.
People bitch all the time that we don't test our servers enough for the capacity we operate at. I'm sorry... have you ever attempted to organize a 70-person server test? Even a 50-person server test? No. You haven't. I have. It's impossible. And the amount of things we have to test, because the environment between a 15-person server and a 70-person is light years apart, cannot be done in one session because people don't have the patience for it. They just sit back and expect Command Staff to fix every single broken thing, and expect us to not have anything broken in the first place.
You must be new to ArmA. New to game switches. We're still within a year of the switch to ArmA 3. We're doing really fucking good for what it is. Go back in time and watch the switch from A1 to A2 to and A2 to A2:CO.
So in conclusion, let me put these simple lines to people who haven't been in these shoes to know what the hell they're talking about:
I don't cater to your personal 'unofficial' servers and missions. What matters are the unit servers and missions.
I don't do your 100% work attitude. We're here to have fun.
If you don't have the peek behind the curtain, don't speak as if you know what's going on. Because, guaranteed, you don't.
Sit down. Be patient. Be calm. Bring issues up the CoC the proper way, in a calm manner, and you won't find yourself so pissed off and possibly run out the door because you've raised my blood pressure too.
This is a game, at the end of the day. People would do well to remember that. I know we have enough to do here to amount to a real job, but it's a fucking game people. Calm. Down. Everything always gets fixed, and the hiccup that you have to 'fix' in your mission templates because we changed something (which, oh yeah, probably fixed something even more important) amounts to nothing.
